FAQ
How is my purchase shipped?
Kent Island Crab Cakes ship via UPS ground or 2nd Day.
How is the product packaged?
Kent Island Crab Cakes products are shipped frozen. Initially, individually wrapped and packaged, then placed in a Polystyrene Container with enough dry ice to hold them up to two days.
What if I am not home when the package arrives?
UPS will leave your package if no one is home unless you specify otherwise when you place your order. If you live you are shipping to an apartment community or a condo, please make sure access to your particular unit is available.
How do I dispose of the dry ice after the package arrives?
Your product is shipped with dry ice to maintain a low temperature and preserve quality and freshness. The dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (CO2) and will evaporate quickly. The dry ice may in fact evaporate during transit to you. If some remains, the dry ice can be disposed of by placing the Polystyrene Container outside or in a WELL ventilated area to allow complete evaporation.

What type of crab do you use?
Our products are made from the Blue Crab meat from the Chesapeake Bay. Please note that Blue Crab is seasonal in the Chesapeake Bay and used whenever possible. During those times the Blue Crab is not available, Kent Island Crab Cakes may use the best available Blue Crab found beyond the Chesapeake Bay. We use only Blue Crab jumbo lump and backfin crab meat.
What guarantee do I have that my order will arrive fresh/frozen?
We ship with enough dry ice to maintain a two-day transit period. If your package arrives late, thawed or is compromised in any manner, your money will be refunded or you will receive a replacement. We stand behind every order shipped. Please call immediately.
How long are your products good for?
Products are shipped frozen. They generally will be good for 12 months if kept in the air-tight package and remain frozen.
